Project Number Four: Growthrings Lehnin
This wasn’t sold on ebay, but to someone on etsy in england. This is a project i’ve had on my mind for a while now, which makes it just the opposite of my previous project, which was completely spontaneous, taking about 20 minutes from conception to completion.
The picture below shows how I cut up an old dead tree with a chainsaw, split the wood with an axe, and then dug out a hole for it in a meadow (I’ve linked the picture below to the big size on flickr, so that one click will bring you alot closer). It took me about two days to complete. This was all done in Lehnin, and I borrowed the tools I used from the Sculpture Park there, where I was also staying. So thanks to Eckhart, and Martin and Gisela Schneider! The weekend was lovely as always!
